Alona Tal

Alona Tal, an Israeli American actor and singer was born on October 20, 1983 in Herzliya. She started her career after she was in the Israeli Defense Forces. Her acting debut was in an Israeli film in 2003. She also appeared in two Israeli television shows at that time. She tried her hand at singing and recorded a few songs in collaboration with Subliminal, an Israeli rapper. Tal was able to move in with her sister in New York in order to have a break from her career. She teamed up with Haitian artist Wyclefjean in the song "Party to Damascus". American television also saw her establish herself with a recurring part on the series Veronica Mars. She initially was a candidate for the role lead however, the show's creator Rob Thomas created a new character for her. Tal eventually was offered regular roles in the short-lived CBS series. After his move to New York, he appeared in two shows on TV in Israel. Wyclef Jean was her singing partner. Hebrew is her mother tongue. Second in the competition for the role as Veronica Mars (2004). She was originally auditioned and Rob Thomas' second choice. Thomas loved her so much he created the character of Meg Manning specifically for her. He was in The Israel Defense Forces. Both of her parents are Jewish and her father is Turkish/Jewish and her mother Polish/Jewish. She portrays Adrian Monk's wife who was murdered in the final episode of Monk (2002).
