Tina Louise Biography

Tina Louise, born Tatiana Josivovna Blacker on February 11, 1934, is an American author and singer. She is best known for her character on Ginger Grant, a CBS show that ran from 1964 to 1967. Her first appearance was on stage in the mid-1950s and then landed her breakout part in the 1958 drama God's Little Acre for which she won the Golden Globe Award for New Star of the Year.Louise had starring roles in a variety of Hollywood films, including The Trap, The Hangman, Day of the Outlaw and For Those who Think Young. Louise later returned to film as a character in The Wrecking Crew, The Happy Ending, and The Stepford Wives.Tina Blacker was born to Jewish parents in New York City. According to one source, her birth name was Tatiana Josivovna Chernova Blacker. Her parents split when she was just four years old. young. As a single parent, she was raised by her mother, Sylvia Horn (nee Myers) Blacker (1916-2011), who was a model. Tina's father Joseph Blacker was a Brooklyn candy shop owner who later, he became an accountant. The name "Louise" was introduced during her senior year of high school when she made a comment to her drama teacher that she was the sole girl in the class without having a middle name. The teacher chose the name Louise and it remained. She went to Miami University in Ohio.
