Ann-Margret biography

Ann-Margret Olsson (born April 28, 1941), known mononymously as Ann-Margret is a Swedish-American performer, dancer and actress. As an actress, she is well-known for her roles in Bye Bye Birdie (1963), Viva Las Vegas (1964), The Cincinnati Kid (1965), Carnal Knowledge (1971), The Train Robbers (1973), Tommy (1975), The Villain (1979), Newsies (1992), Grumpy Old Men (1993), Grumpier Old Men (1995), and Going in Style (2017). She has been nominated for six Emmy Awards, two Academy Awards, two Grammy Awards and a Screen Actors Guild Award. She was awarded an Emmy Award in 2010 for her appearance on Law & Order: Special Victims unit. Her singing and acting careers span six decades, starting in 1961; initially she was touted as a female version Elvis Presley. She has a powerful and vibrant contralto voice. She scored a modest success in 1961 and a charting album in 1964, and she had a major disco hit in 1979. In 2001, she recorded an album with gospel music that received acclaim from critics and, in 2004, an album of Christmas songs. Ann-Margret isn't married however she was the stepmother to Roger Smith's children. Smith, an actor, later became her manager. She and Smith were married from May 8th 1967, until the time of his death on June 4, 2017. She was previously married to Smith from May 8, 1967 until his death on June 4, 2017.
